Job Description Job Description Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in
Education, Special Education, or Visual Impairments, active Teacher
of the Visually Impaired certification and 1 years Teacher of the
Visually Impaired experience required. Applicants who do not meet
these qualifications will not be considered. This full-time,
districtwide itinerant teacher position focuses on providing
specialized education services to visually impaired students across
grades K-12. The role requires a dedicated educator licensed as a
Texas Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TX TVI) who will deliver
tailored instruction and support to students with visual
impairments. The position is based onsite within a school setting
and involves providing services for approximately 32.5 hours per
week. Key Responsibilities: Deliver specialized instructional
support to visually impaired students in grades K-5, 6-8, and 9-12.
Develop and implement individualized educational plans (IEPs)
tailored to the needs of each student. Collaborate with classroom
teachers, parents, and other educational staff to ensure effective
learning strategies and accommodations. Conduct assessments,
monitor student progress, and adjust instruction accordingly.
Provide assistive technology training and resources to enhance
student learning. Travel to various schools within the district to
offer itinerant services. Qualifications: Valid Texas Teacher of
the Visually Impaired (TX TVI) certification is required.
Experience working with visually impaired students in K-12 settings
is highly preferred. Ability to work independently and manage a
flexible schedule within the district. Strong communication and
collaboration skills. This contract role offers the opportunity to
impact students educational journeys by providing critical support
and expertise in visual impairment education. The position requires
onsite presence and effective coordination across multiple school
