Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and
minimum 1 years Special Education Teacher experience required.
Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be
considered. A full-time Elementary Life Skills Teacher position is
available for a contract assignment through the end of May 2026.
This role supports elementary students with intellectual
disabilities, providing specialized instruction tailored to their
individual needs within an elementary school setting in the
Houston, TX area. Key Responsibilities: Deliver individualized
instruction focusing on life skills and special education
curriculum for elementary students with intellectual disabilities
Collaborate with school staff to develop, implement, and monitor
Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) Utilize evidence-based
teaching methods to support student growth and engagement Maintain
accurate records of student progress and communicate effectively
with families and educational teams Participate in ongoing
professional development and district-mandated training
Qualifications and Requirements: Valid Special Education EC-12
teaching certification through the Texas Education Agency (TEA)
Experience working with elementary-aged students with intellectual
disabilities preferred Ability to obtain required district
fingerprints and successfully complete a drug screening Strong
communication and organizational skills for managing caseload and
documentation Availability to begin as soon as possible and commit
through May 26, 2026 Commitment to working onsite in the Houston
