Purpose:Linde is seeking a Safety, Health, and Environmental
(SH&E) Specialist to join our dynamic team, reporting directly
to the LGUS SH&E Director. This role will operate from our
Pasadena, TX facility and oversee safety, environmental, health,
security, and emergency response efforts for multiple local sites.
The Specialist will work collaboratively with these site teams to
ensure operational excellence and advance a culture firmly rooted
in Linde's core values and safety practices.Scope:The SH&E
Specialist applies expert-level knowledge of safety and
environmental practices to improve operational safety, process
safety, pipeline safety, and environmental management. Through
proactive leadership and intervention, this role is tasked with
safeguarding the health of employees, the surrounding environment,
and local communities while maintaining compliance with all
applicable regulations, standards, and policies.Key
Responsibilities:
- Safety Leadership: Collaborate with site employees, leadership
teams, and corporate stakeholders to cultivate and sustain a safe,
healthy, and environmentally conscious workplace.
- Program Management: Execute day-to-day SH&E activities
while ensuring continuity and alignment with safety and
environmental objectives.
- Multidisciplinary Expertise: Leverage proficiency across areas
such as safety, industrial hygiene, process safety management
(PSM), environmental compliance, and emergency response to drive
effective solutions.
- Proactive Improvement: Identify opportunities to enhance safety
and environmental performance and deploy actionable strategies to
mitigate risks.
- Regulatory Compliance: Stay up-to-date on evolving federal,
state, and local regulations, ensuring seamless compliance with
both external standards and internal Linde policies.
- Incident Investigation: Lead investigations into workplace
incidents, accidents, and near-misses, utilizing Root Cause
Analysis (RCA) to identify deficiencies and implement corrective
actions.
- Employee Training: Develop and deliver impactful safety
training programs to improve awareness of protocols, risks, and
best practices.
- Industrial Hygiene: Conduct monitoring and assessments to
detect potential health risks, ensuring mitigation strategies are
effectively integrated.
- Environmental Reporting: Prepare and submit required
environmental documentation in line with permits and regulatory
requirements.
- Workforce Engagement: Actively engage employees in the field to
identify and address safety and operational concerns before
incidents occur, promoting accountability and fostering a culture
of proactive risk management.
- Technical Reporting: Utilize Microsoft Office Suite (Word,
Excel, PowerPoint) to create reports, presentations, and
documentation that support decision-making and compliance
tracking.Required Qualifications:
- Education:
- Bachelor's Degree with 5+ years of experience in safety and
environmental roles, OR
- Associate's Degree with 9+ years of relevant experience.
- Operational Safety Expertise: Proven experience in Operational
Safety practices, including PSM/RMP standards, with previous
experience in a refinery or chemical plant environment.
- Travel Requirement: Ability to operate effectively in office
and field environments, with an estimated 30% travel that may
include overnight stays.Preferred Qualifications:
- Safety Certifications:
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP) certification, OR
- Associate Safety Professional (ASP) certification.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in interpreting Piping and
Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID).
- Pipeline Safety: Previous experience with Pipeline Safety
operations and compliance requirements.
- OSHA Training: Certified OSHA Authorized Trainer for 10-hour
and 30-hour safety courses (General or Construction Industries).Why
