We are seeking an experienced Senior Quality Engineer to join
our growing team! Precision Fluorocarbon Inc. is a leading
manufacturer of custom plastic components, specializing in
compression molded PTFE, thermally formed PTFE diaphragms, custom,
and machined plastic components. PFI produces consistently precise
and uniform plastic products for a wide range of industries
including aerospace, medical, motorsports, oil & gas,
pharmaceutical, pump, semiconductor, and valve. PFI has extensive
knowledge and experience working with various types of plastics,
ensuring the highest quality and customization for their customers.
- No phone calls or recruiters please.JOB SUMMARYAs the Sr Quality
Engineer you will function as the owner for overall quality
management for the Molding and Machining processes. You will
ensuring products meet quality standards required to minimize costs
and ensure customer satisfaction whilst adhearing to all procedures
and processes. Ensure incoming materials meet required quality
standards. You will be responsible for identifying, addressing, and
resolving quality issues to ensure zero impact to the customer.
Support new product introductions to ensure the reliability of
product builds. Work in a team environment to develop and implement
the best practices that emphasize defect prevention, reduction in
variation and waste and provide continuous improvements in
achieving all customer requirements. Manage the customer specific
requirements and offer technical support. Responsible for multiple
quality projects requiring effective solutions where results are
crucial to successful completion of projects. Work is conducted
independently with minimal supervision and work is reviewed at
project milestones and/or on completion by Senior Management. Role
and Responsibilities
- Manage all quality-related issues within the manufacturing team
(e.g. internal, supplier, customer, and customer returns).
- Lead and perform root cause analysis and investigate permanent
corrective actions for product quality issues.
- Work with internal and external stakeholders to resolve quality
issues that arise as quickly and efficiently as possible to prevent
compromising quality and safety standards.
- Carry out system, product, and process auditing.
- Ensure control plans and associated documentation are
implemented effectively and maintained.
- Monitor and report on quality-related key performance
indicators (KPIs) including scrap monitoring, rework levels, parts
per million (PPM) figures.
- Ensure compliance and assist with adherence to the Quality
Management system (ISO 9001)
- Undertake special projects as required.
- Assist with training in quality awareness and tools.
- Report on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to adhere to
process and prevent occurrence of any non-conformity relating to
product, process or system.
- Promote the use of customer preferred techniques for continuous
improvement such as Six-Sigma, Poka-Yoke (Error Proofing), and
Measurement System Analysis.
- Participate in cross-functional teams in the development of new
products or changes related to current products in meeting customer
requirements.
- Participate in the development and refinement of Process FMEA's
(Failure Mode and Effects Analysis).
- Manage and coordinate customer PPM (Parts per Million),
supplier PPM, supplier problem solving on time, cost recovery and
supplier warranty indicators.
- Keep up with current and developing manufacturing and
engineering trends that concern product quality.
- Drive quality improvement using quality tools and quality
management systems to identify improvement needs, work with a cross
functional team to drive execution of key quality initiatives.
Achieve goals within budget.
- Create, revise, and/or review procedures, work instructions,
and forms related to quality management system.
- Review dispositions of nonconforming material with the MRB and
assign appropriate coding to each nonconformance.
- Must comply with internal policies and procedures as well as
the rules and regulations mandated under the following quality and
governmental standards: ISO 9000 and ITARQUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS,
AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
- Years of experience: Minimum 7 years' experience in
manufacturing quality environment, including experience with ISO
quality procedures.
- Process knowledge: Manufacturing processes, particularly
molding and machining process, Metrology and GD&D; PTFE
experience is a plus.
- QMS experience: ISO 9001 requirements; Experience in PPAP,
FMEA, Control Plan, SPC, and MSA is a plus.
- Problem Solving experience: Strong 8D root-cause analysis
knowledge. Six-Sigma experience is preferred.
- Auditing experience: Quality system elements, process audits,
possession of auditor certification a plus.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in engineering (Chemical,
Mechanical, Industrial, or related)
- Communication: High communication skill on the shop floor and
with customers.
- Must possess basic personal computer skills including Microsoft
Office products, and knowledge of QMS data software systems and
ERP/MRP systems.
