with special pathogens or infectious diseases Job Description: To
manage activities for a project or program. The Special Pathogens
Excellence in Clinical Treatment, Readiness, and Education
(SPECTRE) Program is hiring a Coordinator II to support our
institutional and regional efforts to protect and serve our
community in the face of emerging and special pathogens. The
SPECTRE Program maintains institutional readiness for clinical
treatment, provides special pathogen education both institutionally
and to our surrounding 5-state region, and coordinates nationally
with the National Special Pathogen System of Care (NSPS). The
Coordinator II role will include emergency management and
preparedness activities focused on special pathogens response
across UTMB’s healthcare, academic, research, and support
enterprises, as well as regionally with local and state public
health agencies. This position will liaise directly with multiple
healthcare organizations and public health entities and should be
well-organized and a strong communicator. Applicants with a
background in infectious disease and/or a Master’s in Public Health
are encouraged to apply. Job Duties: - Assist with and lead
regional preparedness and coordination activities for UTMB
SPECTRE’s Program, as directed by the Regional Coordination Program
Manager. - Coordinate preparedness activities across UTMB,
including Academic & Research Enterprises, to maintain and update
response plans, share resources, support emergency communications,
and conduct after-action reviews to ensure continuous improvement.
- Facilitate continuity planning efforts in coordination with
subject-matter experts, including drafting plans, coordinating
meetings, and performing related duties as required. Pl - an,
coordinate, and conduct training and exercises at the
institutional, state, and regional levels to strengthen
preparedness for priority risks. - Attend emergency preparedness
and emergency management trainings as needed and disseminate
applicable knowledge, tools, and best practices to SPECTRE
personnel. - Facilitate and actively participate in key meetings at
the team, state, and regional levels; lead preparedness activities;
and maintain and strengthen collaborative relationships with
departmental, city, county, state, regional, and federal partners.
- Utilize database, web-based tools to enhance preparedness,
response, and mitigation capabilities. - Maintain situational
awareness of emerging and ongoing threats to UTMB and HHS Region 6
and effectively communicate relevant information to key
stakeholders. - Performs related duties as required
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: - Knowledge of emergency preparedness
and disaster response. - Knowledge of continuity planning. -
Ability to analyze data and summarize multiple sources of
information into coherent recommendations for action. - Excellent
communications, interpersonal and problem-solving skills with a
high degree of professionalism and competence in dealing with a
variety of individuals including administrative, academic, and
medical professionals, peers, and public officials. EQUIPMENT:
Standard office equipment. WORKING ENVIRONMENT/LOCATION OF
POSITION: Standard office environment, standard officed equipment.
Position requires some out of state travel, up to 25%. Salary
Range: Actual salary commensurate with experience or range if
