This contract position emphasizes comprehensive patient care across various specialized units including telemetry, neuro stepdown, and progressive care, with a focus on cardiac and neurological cases. Key Responsibilities: Deliver patient care in MS/Tele, Telemetry, Cardiac Telemetry, ER Holding, Neuro Stepdown, and PCU/IMC units. Monitor and interpret cardiac dysrhythmias, manage telemetry both onsite and remotely. Provide cardiovascular patient support including post-cardiac surgery, angiograms, and catheter care. Administer endocrine protocols such as IV insulin and handle renal care including pre/post hemodialysis management. Conduct IV therapy, phlebotomy, blood product administration, and central/peripheral line management. Manage medications including heparin protocols, cardiac drips, PCA, and procedural sedation. Support respiratory care with chest tubes, CPAP/BiPAP, high flow nasal cannula, and tracheostomy management. Utilize professional skills such as isolation precautions and wound care, including wound vac management. Float regularly between departments and units as needed, including emergency department inpatient holding. Qualifications and Desired Experience: Minimum of 2 years RN experience; prior charge nurse and teaching hospital experience preferred. Certifications required: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS. Ability to work night shifts (3x12-hour shifts, 18:45 - 07:15). Willingness to work 8 weekend shifts in a 6-week schedule period. Open to floating among MSI units based on patient care needs.
