Assistant Plant Manager
Houston, Texas

This position has recently opened up, due to the upcoming retirement of our client?s existing Plant Manager. As Assistant Plant Manager, you will ?shadow? your predecessor for approximately the next two years in order to thoroughly learn the ropes. You will, ultimately, assume overall responsibility for 600 employees and all production, scheduling, budgeting, accounting, engineering, QC, material handling, and safety. To qualify, you should hold a Bachelor?s degree in Mechanical, Civil or Chemical Engineering (a business degree, accompanied by the right skill set, will be considered), and possess 8+ years of managing 300 to 400 people. A great budgeting acumen and knowledge of Lean Manufacturing are expected. Importantly, you should come from a solid background as a Director of Operations. Tank car and welding process experience would be a huge plus.
