Helper plays a crucial supporting role in the efficient operation
of an automotive body repair shop. This position involves assisting
skilled technicians with preparing vehicles for repair, maintaining
a clean and organized work environment, and handling materials and
tools necessary for bodywork tasks. The primary goal is to ensure
that the repair process runs smoothly by providing timely and
effective support, which contributes to high-quality vehicle
restoration and customer satisfaction. The role requires physical
stamina, attention to detail, and the ability to follow safety
protocols to maintain a safe workplace. Ultimately, the Body Shop
Helper helps facilitate the timely completion of repairs, enabling
the shop to meet its service commitments and uphold its reputation
for excellence. Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or
equivalent. Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting,
bending, and standing for extended periods. Basic understanding of
automotive parts and repair processes. Willingness to learn and
follow instructions carefully. Valid driver’s license. Preferred
Qualifications: Previous experience working in an automotive body
shop or related environment. Familiarity with automotive tools and
equipment. Basic knowledge of safety and environmental regulations
related to automotive repair. Strong communication and teamwork
skills. Certification in automotive repair assistance or related
training. Responsibilities: Assist technicians by preparing
vehicles for body repair, including washing, sanding, and masking
surfaces. Organize and maintain tools, equipment, and materials to
ensure they are readily available for use. Remove and install
vehicle parts such as bumpers, trim, and glass under the guidance
of technicians. Clean and dispose of waste materials in compliance
with environmental and safety regulations. Support the team in
moving vehicles within the shop and staging them for various repair
processes. Follow all safety procedures and wear appropriate
personal protective equipment at all times. Communicate effectively
with team members to coordinate tasks and ensure workflow
efficiency. Skills: The Body Shop Helper uses physical stamina and
manual dexterity daily to assist with vehicle preparation and parts
handling. Attention to detail is essential when masking and sanding
vehicles to ensure technicians can perform repairs accurately.
Communication skills are important for coordinating with team
members and understanding instructions to maintain workflow
efficiency. Knowledge of safety protocols is applied consistently
to prevent accidents and ensure compliance with regulations.
Additionally, organizational skills help in maintaining a clean and
orderly workspace, which supports the overall productivity of the
body shop.
