Job Title: Bookkeeper Department: Administration Reports to: Managing Member(s) Direct Subordinates: N/A as of 09/21/2021 Employer Information Organization Name: Kingdom Security Website: www.Kingdomsecurity.org Job Department: Administration Job Location: League City FLSA Status : Exempt Position Summary: The Bookkeeper performs a variety of accounting and bookkeeping duties according to established policies and procedures. Compute, classify, and record numerical data to keep financial records complete. Perform any combination of routine calculating, posting, and verifying duties to obtain primary financial data for use in maintaining accounting records. Maintain an accurate balance of account ledgers and ensure collections are maintained and not behind. May also check the accuracy of figures, calculations, and postings pertaining to business transactions recorded by other workers. Maintains contact with staff, vendors and clients and observes confidentiality of client and firm matters. Purpose: Compute, classify, and record numerical data to keep financial records complete. Perform any combination of routine calculating, posting, and verifying duties to obtain primary financial data for use in maintaining accounting records. May also check the accuracy of figures, calculations, and postings pertaining to business transactions recorded by other workers. Bookkeeper Essential Duties & Responsibilities: * Utilizes computerized accounting software programs (Excel, Word, Sedona) to perform duties and responsibilities: records, stores, and analyzes information. * Generates accounting statements and reports. * Code documents according to company procedures * Access computerized financial information to answer general questions as well as those related to specific accounts. * Researches, receives, and records cash receipts; codes and posts receipts, checks, and vouchers. * Prepares daily bank deposit- to be reviewed by management. * Researches and applies unallocated cash. * Oversees accounts, accounts payable write-offs and payment reversals. * Develops automated spreadsheets. * Operates office equipment including personal computer, copiers, fax machines and 10-key calculator to perform calculations and produce documents. * Organizes and maintains up to date financial records: Classify, record, and summarize numerical and financial data to compile and keep financial records, using journals and ledgers or computers. * Provides monthly financial and management reports: Compile statistical, financial, accounting or auditing reports and tables pertaining to such matters as cash receipts, expenditures, accounts payable and profits and losses. * Maintains telephone and personal contact with attorneys, staff and vendors on payables matters as directed by manager. * Reads, uses and is familiar with computer systems manuals and procedures, maintains and updates procedural manuals as needed. * Organizes and maintains retention files for a required period of time. * Check figures, postings, and documents for correct entry, mathematical accuracy, and proper codes. * Reconcile or note and report discrepancies found in records. * Comply with federal, state, and company policies, procedures, and regulations. * Debit, credit, and total accounts on computer spreadsheets and databases, using specialized accounting software. * Perform general office duties such as filing, answering telephones, and handling routine correspondence. * Match order forms with invoices, and record the necessary information. Education: Bachelor's Degree Knowledge: Clerical - Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and records, stenography and transcription, designing forms, and other office procedures and terminology. Mathematics - Knowledge of arithmetic, algebra, geometry, calculus, statistics, and their applications. Bookkeeper English Language - Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar. Economics and Accounting - Knowledge of economic and accounting principles and practices, the financial markets, banking and the analysis and reporting of financial data. Customer and Personal Service - Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction. Computers and Electronics - Knowledge of circuit boards, processors, chips, electronic equipment, and computer hardware and software, including applications and programming.
